Anatomy

The Department of Anatomy teaches gross anatomy, histology, embryology and neuroanatomy. It is composed of dynamic professors who are medical doctors with Master degrees in the various health and academic fields and practicing clinicians. The course it offers to first year medical students is a robust mix of basic concepts in human anatomy, histology and embryology with clinical applications appropriate to the clinical setting. The curriculum includes basic, applied and clinical gross anatomy and histology as well as radiologic anatomy. Teaching techniques employed are varied and employs the traditional: such as interactive lectures supplemented with cadaver dissection and histology sessions and the modern : with the newly acquired virtual anatomy laboratory for e-learning. In keeping with the vision of the college, the department constantly updates and innovates learning strategies with a consistent goal in mind – excellence in the academics and competent clinical practice.
